Eccentric pressing is a sheet metal forming technique used to punch, cut or shape materials using an eccentric press. The eccentric press consists of a frame, a movable upper part and a pressboard and an eccentric mechanism that converts rotary motion into linear motion. A pressing tool is placed on the press table. When the press is activated, a motor rotates an eccentric shaft coupled to a flywheel. The eccentric shape of the shaft converts the rotary motion into a linear motion, driving the top of the press downwards with great force and precision. The process can be repeated quickly and continuously, making eccentric pressing a very efficient method for mass production of sheet metal parts.
