We help you all the way from drawing to finished part, and if necessary, we combine laser cutting with post-processing to meet tight tolerances and clear functional requirements.
What is meant by 2D laser cutting?
2D laser cutting means that we cut contours in flat material, usually sheet metal. The laser follows the geometry you want and creates details with high repeatability even with complex shapes, many hole patterns or thin materials. This method is particularly cost-effective when you want to avoid tooling costs while being able to change the design quickly.
When is 2D laser cutting most suitable?
2D laser cutting is a strong option when you need to:
- Complex contours and sharp shapes in flat sheet metal
- Rapid prototyping and small series production
- Mass production with consistent quality and repeatability requirements
- Efficient use of materials and high production rates
- Parts where laser cutting is combined with milling, drilling or other post-processing
Common examples are sheet metal parts for industrial production, shim solutions, spacers, fasteners and components where a stable geometry is crucial for function and assembly.
Quality that lasts in real production
For laser cutting to work in your application, more than the cut itself needs to be right. We work in a structured way:
Dimensions and tolerances
You get a result that is tailored to your tolerance requirements. When tolerances are particularly critical, we help you define functional dimensions and, if necessary, plan finishing operations such as fits.
Edge quality and grading
The right parameters, the right process and the right choice of material make a big difference. We ensure edge quality that works for the next step, whether the part is to be welded, bent, assembled or surface treated.
Repeatability in series
A major advantage of laser cutting is that the same geometry can be repeated with high precision. This provides security in series where you want to minimize variations and avoid unnecessary rework.
From drawing to finished detail
We are happy to take responsibility for the whole. For the fastest lead time and a quote that is accurate, we recommend that you send:
- DXF or DWG (for cutting contours)
- Drawing or specification with material, thickness and tolerances
- Desired volume and any post-processing requirements
If you do not have a ready-made basis, we can often help you find out what is required for the design to work optimally when laser cutting.
Do you need more than laser cutting?
Many parts require more than contour cutting. That's why we can add finishing when needed, for example for precise hole dimensions, threads, flat reference surfaces or tight fits. This allows you to get a more complete delivery with fewer suppliers and better control of the end result.
